Story
We are a charity that provides a free life-saving service that is operational 24/7 by helicopters
and by rapid response vehicles in the hours of darkness.
Our aim is to save lives, reduce or prevent disability, or suffering from critical illness and injury, by delivering a first class pre-hospital emergency medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
We exist because of generous people like you who donate, play our lottery, visit our shops, and volunteer!
On Saturday 11th July we, Jon Read and Gavin Brewer, will begin what we expect to be the experience of a lifetime when we set out from John O'Groats, aiming to walk to Land's End. This will require us to complete 988 miles, that's without the inevitable search for non-existent paths, just plain inability to read a map and the occasional swerve off-route to look for "sustenance".
Over the years we have both been involved in all the annual week-long walks with other Chelmsford City fans raising funds for various worthy causes, however this little jaunt is scheduled to take us 66 days in all, we are scheduled to arrive in Land's End on Monday 14th September.
We have decided to try to raise some funds for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, if you can sponsor this great cause it will ease some of the pain and lift our morale as we trek South.
