Story
In April 24, we had the very sad news that my mum (Dot), aged 78, was diagnosed with Alzheimers. This is a cruel disease that causes a gradually decline in the memory, thinking and reasoning skills and has wide impacts on everybody who is close.
This diagnosis really brought into focus the help and support my mum will need moving forward from all of the family but also the great charities that exist. At the time I, and the rest of the family felt powerless, but the need to do something to help is in my DNA. For those that know me, you will know I'm a keen triathlete, but running the London marathon has always been something I'd love to do. I do it now with a different sense of purpose and with nothing but my mum in my mind.
My target is to raise £2500 for Alzheimer's Research UK, a fantastic charity that is devoted to finding a cure to this awful disease, but they need more money.
Please, please please, reach into your pockets and give what you can, nothing is too little. I will be truly grateful for your contribution..
Thanks
Jono
