Story
As part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in the UK, on 14th March 2026, a group of supporters from Carlton Town Football Club in the 8th tier of the football pyramid in England will be walking just over 27 miles around the city calling in at seven other Non League grounds before finishing at their Stoke Lane home to raise funds for Prostate Cancer.
Driven by a desire to raise awareness as well as money, the group will start their route at Gedling Miners Welfare FC, Plains Rd, Nottingham at 0500hrs. From there they will journey to Arnold Town FC (0630hrs), Basford United (0830hrs), Radford FC (0915hrs), Dunkirk FC (1045hrs), Clifton All Whites FC (1145hrs) and West Bridgford FC (1330hrs) before concluding their trip back on familiar turf at Carlton Town’s home ground during the Millers’ home league match against Corby Town.
The team will be welcoming donations but also fellow walkers to join them for all or part of this walk. The hope is this builds ties between the teams in the area as well as maximising the impact of the fundraising effort.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. 1 in 8 men will get it.
