Conquer the Great Wall of China

JONATHAN BROOKES is raising money for St Michael's Hospice (Hereford)

Conquer the Great Wall of China · 31 October 2026 to 8 November 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Originally built to protect China from nomadic invaders, the Great Wall offers an exhilarating adventure. This week-long challenge includes over 10,000 uneven steps. Breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscapes will fill you with awe.

Story

My sister, Anna Ellis, and I are undertaking a sibling challenge by hiking for a week on the Great Wall of China (in November 2026). We are hiking as part of group on behalf of St Michael's Hospice in Hereford - an amazing organisation that sits at the heart of our community and touches so many lives. The hospice does amazing work, providing care for those who are ill and also caring for their loved ones. We want to help and we want you to do so too. All donations are so gratefully received. We are covering all of the trip costs ourselves so every penny on here will go to do great things (gift aid helps massively too!). Thank you.

P.S. I have just completed a fairly brutal 7 day trek to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, the highest point in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world (5,985m/19,341 ft- Feb 26) as part of my fundraising. 🏔️🫣
