Story
Very recently, my best friend lost his beautiful Mum. Donna was the most loving and caring character, her laugh was contagious. She was the centre of her family. Unfortunately, age 50, shortly after a brain tumor diagnosis, she gained her angel wings.
Almost 6 years ago, I lost my beloved Uncle Darren, aged 51. Daz had the ability to light up any room with his infamous laugh, dad jokes and sophomoric humour.
The effects of both losses on friends and family has been indescribable.
I wanted to challenge myself both physically and mentally to raise money for The Brain Tumor Charity.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity, moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour or brain cancer.
On Saturday, 18th May 2024, I will be participating in the Jurassic Coast Ultra Marathon challenge. Running 100km of the world heritage coastline whilst climbing 2,300m in the process. This will be a full continuous effort aiming to get the challenge done on the same day.
Although fundraising won't bring either of them back it can go a long way to help improve treatments, make diagnostics more efficient and help grieving families who have sadly lost loved ones to the effects of brain tumours.
The Brain Tumour Charity understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
