Story
On June 8 we will be attempting to play 72 holes of golf in a single day. This is to raise money for The Golf Trust, a charity that has become close to our hearts.
We will be setting off at dawn from the 1st tee at The Shire London Golf Club, an 18-hole Championship venue measuring 7,028 yards. A course of this great length combined with our renowned ability to zigzag due to bad shots, means we will be walking around 28 miles to complete the challenge. This is daunting when you factor in our battered middle-aged bodies and the need to swing a club many, many times.
The Golf Trust https://thegolftrust.com/aims to introduce (or reintroduce) golf to individuals with a disability, the money raised will be used to provide more joyous opportunities for those golfers less fortunate than us. The ParaGolfer wheelchair has provided the opportunity for our close friend Jolyon to get back hitting golf balls again following a recent illness. His amazing progress has been getting attention on social media.
