Jonathan's fundraiser for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

Smash Sherwood 2025 · 29 June 2025 ·
Here we go again - this year for sponsored activity I'm out of madness aiming to group 3 events together for this special charity. Im starting with "Smash Sherwood" 10km run on 29th June - as previously stated I don't do running (when I did Brewers 10k in 2023 - first time run since school and I'm 59 now!). I'm following this up hopefully with "Conquer Cannock" 10km run on 20th July!! Then it will be the Brewers 10k run on 26th October to wrap up the events for this sponsorship. What madness but I remember that a dear friend Paula lost her battle with lung cancer at the age of 59 - plus other friends and family faced battles with cancer over the years (some won and some sadly lost). I'm thankful for my health and being fit enough to do this - a change from sleeping or walking 100km for charity this time (they will hopefully both return soon)
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, has a mission to ensure everyone diagnosed with lung cancer can live well with the disease for as long as possible.
For the past three decades, Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation has been the driving force behind lung cancer research, investing millions of pounds into the early detection of the disease. They have done this, and will continue to do this, because we know if lung cancer is caught early, curative treatment is possible.
I am thankful and blessed to be doing this - please give as you see fit. But remember never be afraid to have a go at something (even if it seems mad!) You will not achieve if you don't try and you can help others in your own unique way. Whatever you do it's "left foot right foot repeat" and that can take us on our own unique adventures
