Story
Hello everyone! I'm taking on the Wolves 10K 2026 to raise vital funds for Compton Care.
Running this 10K is something very personal to me and my family. Last year was the most difficult year we have ever had to face. Within the space of just eight months, both of my wife’s parents, Patrick and Lynda, were diagnosed with unrelated terminal illnesses completely out of the blue, and heartbreakingly we lost them both in the February and October respectively. It was an incredibly challenging and emotional time for our whole family.
During their final days, Compton Hospice cared for them and showed an extraordinary level of compassion, dignity, and kindness. They didn’t just focus on making my in-laws as comfortable as possible; they also provided incredible support to us as a family during those final moments and in the difficult time that followed. The care they provide truly goes above and beyond, giving families the space, reassurance, and support they need during the hardest moments of their lives.
I’m also doing this for my wife. I simply cannot begin to imagine everything she has had to endure losing both of her parents in such a short space of time. Watching her navigate that level of grief while still holding our family together has been incredibly humbling. If running this 10K can help give something back to the people who cared so deeply for her parents and supported our family through such an unimaginable time, then it feels like a small but meaningful way to honour them.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean a huge amount to us and will help ensure that other families receive the same incredible care and compassion when they need it most.
Thank you.
