My name is Jon, and alongside my sister (Sarah) and her partner (Lily) - We make up Team Gellett, who will be running the Hackney Half Marathon (Sunday 18th May) in support of Sarcoma UK.

Sarcoma UK help fund vital research into the disease and offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancers to ensure that more people survive sarcoma and everyone will have access to the best possible treatment and care.

At the beginning of December 2024 our Dad (Tony) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma Cancer (Soft Tissue), which sadly, is a terminal diagnosis. Tony is due to start chemotherapy late January 2025 to help reduce the speed at which the disease spreads.

We appreciate anything that you are able to donate, big or small. Anything you are able to contribute will mean the absolute world to us and keep us going on the big day (not to mention the cold nights training ahead of it!) - THANK YOU.

I will be posting updates on my training over the next 5 months but for those who want to follow a little more closely, I’ll post all my trainings runs on STRAVA (Jon Gellett).
