DOC- Challenge (Duty of Care - Challenge)

Women’s Aid Federation of England is the national charity working against domestic abuse. Alongside our campaigning, training, and advocacy work, our support services, including our No Woman Turned Away project, break down barriers preventing survivors from accessing refuge.

Story

I’m taking on the Duty of Care (DOC) Challenge to raise vital funds for Women’s Aid and to help drive national awareness for a Duty of Care Law a campaign led by FAITH and families across the UK calling for a statutory Duty to Assist. This law would make it a criminal offence to knowingly leave someone in immediate danger without calling for help.

This challenge is inspired by my sister, Danielle, who lost her life after being left without assistance when she needed it most. No family should ever have to endure that. The DOC Challenge is our way of turning loss into purpose and compassion into action.

But this isn’t just my challenge.

This is a challenge shared by families standing together for change.

If you believe no one should ever be abandoned in danger…

If you believe in a safer, kinder society…

Then I’m challenging YOU to take part too.

Run, walk, cycle, swim, lift, bake, paint or create your own DOC Challenge. Every act of participation sends a clear message:

We look after each other. We don’t walk away.

By supporting or joining the challenge, you’re helping two things happen at once:

• You’re funding Women’s Aid, who provide lifesaving support for women and children escaping domestic abuse.

• You’re strengthening the national call led by FAITH, Families Acting for Immediate Threat Help. Fighting for a Duty of Care Law, ensuring that what happened to Danielle, and to so many others, can never happen again.

If you can donate, thank you.

If you can take part, even better.

If you can challenge someone else to join, you’re helping this movement grow.

Stand with us. Stand with the families.

Take on the DOC Challenge and pass it on.
