💜 80 Mile Hike for Danielle’s Law Supporting Women’s Aid
From 29 April to 2 May, we will be walking 80 miles from Catterick Garrison to Glossop to raise awareness and support two vital causes: Danielle’s Law and Women’s Aid.
This challenge is deeply personal.
My sister Danielle died after being left alone in a locked flat following a violent domestic incident. Despite the clear danger she was in, the current law meant that the person who abandoned her could not be charged with gross negligence manslaughter because he was not considered to owe her a legal duty of care.
Through Danielle’s Law, we are campaigning to change that.
We believe the law should require people to call 999 or seek help when someone is in life-threatening danger. No one should be able to knowingly walk away from a vulnerable person in crisis without accountability.
This walk is about turning grief into change raising awareness, building support for the petition, and helping organisations that protect women experiencing abuse.
💜 We are proud to be supporting Women’s Aid, whose work helps women and children escape domestic abuse and rebuild their lives safely.
On the final day of the hike, we will be joined by FAITH – Families Acting for Immediate Threat Help, a group of families campaigning for stronger protection and emergency responses for people facing immediate danger. Their support on the final leg represents a shared mission: ensuring that when someone’s life is at risk, help comes before it is too late.
Every donation helps us:
• Raise awareness for Danielle’s Law
• Support the life-saving work of Women’s Aid
• Continue campaigning so no family has to fight the same battle for justice
Thank you for standing with us.
Together, we can turn tragedy into change. 💜
