Aberdeen based charity Music 4 U changes the lives of young people and their families through inclusive performing arts classes, enabling them to experience a tailored learning experience in a supportive, uplifting and inspiring environment.

Music 4 U students lead enriched lives, with increased employability, empathy, and quality of life.

My stepson, Jamie, has been involved with Music4U for over ten years and has grown in confidence massively during that time. When he joined he was a shy, reserved young man. He was introduced to the drums, found to have a natural talent playing them and in a relatively short time he was performing on stage with the rest of the charity group. He then added percussion and glockenspiel to his repertoire, again performing publicly. Now he he has added dance and singing. None of this would have been possible if he had not had the support of Music4U.

As a thank you for what they have done, I have decided to traipse the streets of both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire in the hope that I can reach 1 million steps (yes - 1 MILLION steps!) between 1st August and 30th September. This would be roughly the equivalent of walking the North Coast 500. I'd be grateful if any of my friends, colleagues , associates or strangers would see fit to sponsor my challenge. I will post updates as I proceed. Now I am away to buy a big umbrella for those rainy Autumn days!
