Story
On the 8th June, firefighters and support staff from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service will begin a five day hike to complete the iconic Bob Graham Round in the Lake District, to raise money for Firefighters Charity.
The route is 66 miles, with 28000ft of elevation - that's the equivalent of climbing Everest! They will visit 42 of the highest peaks in the Lakes, including Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, Blencathra and Skiddaw, hiking for around 8 hours each day.
It's a tough challenge, and there will be some high 'highs' and low 'lows', and that's not just the mountains!
We will be providing daily updates and carrying a tracker so you can follow our progress. Any donations or words of encouragement will be very much appreciated, especially as we hit the gnarly days three and four when there's still a long way to go but fatigue and muscle soreness will inevitably have set in.
