Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike 2025 - full marathon · 21 June 2025 ·

Set yourself an exciting new challenge and hike a full or half marathon around the iconic Giant's Causeway to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

In June 2025, we have challenged ourselves to take on the Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer.

We are doing this in memory of Dad, who fought hard but sadly eventually lost his battle with cancer.

Dad thought the world of his Macmillan Nurses and was able to be comfortable in his last days due to their dedication and we were supported as a family by them and still are.

We would be so grateful if you could help us reach our £1000 pledge, which can pay for Macmillan Nurses. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.

There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.

We wanted to do something useful in memory of Dad and to thank MacMillan for the help they gave us all, when the causeway hike came up it ticked the boxes. Obviously coming home to Northern Ireland to walk it makes it all the more special but especially the Causeway coast, a part of the world that Dad loved and holds so many good memories for us.

Our team name “team Marada” comes from the herd prefix that Mum and Dad held for Dads beloved herd of Ayrshire cows. It was created by using the first three letters of our name Marshall, and the first three letters of Mums maiden name Adams.

Thank you!
