Story

I will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 25th May 2025. I am fundraising for the North West Mountain Rescue Team in memory of my friend and colleague Nigel who sadly passed away while out hill walking before Christmas. The North West Mountain Rescue Team is a charity close to my heart, they respond just like any other emergency service, however they are voluntary and rely mainly on donations in order to keep doing the amazing work they do.

The North West Mountain Rescue Team has one of the largest operational areas of any mountain rescue team in UK or Ireland. Excluding the Mourne Mountains, their operational area is the geographical boundaries of Northern Ireland, extending to approximately 12,600 sq kms or 4,800 sq miles. They have three sections spread across the operational area, based in Enniskillen, Magherafelt and Broughshane, allowing them to deploy resources quickly to any location.
