Row to Norway
On Saturday 4th March, a team of six intrepid oarsmen will take on a challenge to row across the North Sea from Scotland to Norway, virtually, using Concept 2 rowing machines. This will be the fourth challenge the team has taken on in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
We read the story of a Norwegian Bolton Wanderers fan diagnosed with MND who never failed to travel to the UK to watch his team play. Unfortunately, he recently passed away due to his illness. The story of Glenn Råna struck chord, and we decided to honour him by making the journey to Norway.
The team of 6 will row a total of 528km (328 miles) which is the approximate distance of shortest ferry crossing between the UK and Norway (from Peterhead in Scotland to Bergen in Norway). Setting off in the early morning, the team plans to complete the challenge before 9pm the same day. Each rower will have to cover 88km to hit the team total and virtually cover the distance across the North Sea, "arriving" in Norway.
We hope that this challenge will be eye catching enough to fuel discussion and raise money for this much deserving cause.
Please support us either by the km or as an overall amount.
Thankyou
