Jonathan's fundraiser for the ME Association

Jonathan Williams is raising money for ME Association

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.

Story

In April 2026, I will be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in order to raise money for the ME association and to spread awareness about CFS/ME, an often misunderstood condition.

CFS/ME is a chronic illness associated with extreme fatigue. Sufferers often face a multitude of symptoms and the condition can vary greatly from person to person, with varying degrees of severity.

My girlfriend suffers with CFS and I have learnt a lot from her experience with the condition. I see it affect her in her everyday life in ways I couldn't have even considered when I first met her.

It impacts her in so many ways that I wouldn't be able to detail them all, however some symptoms include experiencing extreme fatigue, joint and muscle pain, impaired vision and insomnia. Additionally, symptoms of the condition often worsen other conditions she faces.

The condition is under-recognised, under-researched, and too often misunderstood, which is why charities like the ME Association are so important. They fund research, campaign for change, and offer support to those living with ME and their families.

Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
