Story
As an environmentalist, trees are a passion of mine.
Tree Aid works with communities across Africa’s drylands, growing over 40 million trees, supporting over 3.8 million people and bringing over 260,000 hectares of land under sustainable management.
The amazing work of Tree Aid is not just about trees, wonderful as they are. Their fruit and timber bring income to women who can now send their children to school. They improve the local microclimate, attracting birds and wildlife. They put down roots and create shelter for the future of all life.
Tree Aid works in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Senegal, where the climate crisis is shrinking fertile land and putting pressure on the lives of more than 300 million people.
Every project is led by the people who know their environment best, helping trees take root, supporting lasting livelihoods and protecting vital ecosystems.
