Story
Hi,
This August, I’ll be running the Sydney Marathon - the 2nd step in a personal mission to complete all 7 World Marathon Majors in the next 7 years. But this journey isn’t just about medals or finish lines; it’s about making each step count for something bigger.
Last year, I ran the London Marathon in memory of my mum, raising money for Sue Ryder. This year, I’m proud to run for WellChild - a charity that supports seriously ill children and their families.
Being a dad of 2 is the greatest joy of my life. But I know that for many families, those moments of joy are overshadowed by fear, hospital visits, and the exhausting uncertainty of serious illness.
That’s why I’m running for WellChild.
WellChild provides vital care for children with long-term or complex health needs. Their specialist nurses help children to leave hospital and receive care at home. They also run amazing programmes like Helping Hands, which transforms bedrooms and gardens into safe, comforting spaces with the help of volunteers across the UK.
I can’t pretend to understand what it’s like to care for a seriously ill child - but I do know what it’s like to love your children deeply and wanting the very best for them. This is why I want to support WellChild in a small way by raising £2,000.
I appreciate your donation. Thank you.
Jonathan
