This Spring I’ll be running 4 marathons in 40 days, for the Leeds Women’s Counselling & Therapy Service (WCTS), the chosen charity of the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Al Garthwaite.

WCTS offer a free, or low-cost, counselling and psychotherapy service for women and girls on low incomes in Leeds.

They work with disadvantaged or marginalised women and girls facing complex health and social situations.  They help them to recover from experiences of abuse, violence, neglect, trauma and mental ill health. 

My friend & colleague Cllr Al Garthwaite chose to support WCTS through her mayoral year of office and it’s important we get the total as high as possible before Al’s mayoral year is over at the end of May.

Last year I ran 3 marathons in 30 days and raised £3,096 l for the Rob Burrow MND Centre, so it was important to up that challenge and make it harder this year!
