Story
Starting on Monday 3rd March, I’ll be attempting to run 7 Marathons in 70 days, finishing with the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on Sunday 11th May 2025; raising money for the new Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease at Seacroft Hospital.
Seacroft Hospital was originally built in the early 20th Century, with care for infectious diseases in mind. The brand-new centre will see all MND services, purpose built and housed under one roof for the first time. Last year, enough money was raised to build the new MND centre, but now it’s essential that we continue to fundraise to ensure the centre can expand the care on offer with additional equipment, a therapeutic garden, family support services, holistic therapies and for the first time in Leeds, new research programmes.
My 7th and final Marathon in this challenge will be the first Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon since Rob’s passing. This is a significant moment that calls for our collective support. Please donate to help make this vision a reality!
As Rob once said, “My vision is that people diagnosed with MND hear the news in a calming and tranquil sanctuary. I envisage a beautiful, welcoming building that is user and family friendly. A place where patients feel comfortable to bring family members into a safe and homely environment for them, with signs of hope and optimism.”
Together, we can create this sanctuary of hope and healing. Your generous contributions will help us reach our target for this vital cause.
