Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July 2023 I was in a serious car accident that left me with multiple life changing injuries, including a broken pelvis, femur, hip, back, and ankles. I spent 11 days in intensive care and 6 weeks in hospital at QMC, and it was 5 months before I was even able to start walking again.

Thanks to the incredible care I received from Nottingham University Hospitals and the amazing support of my family and friends, I’ve learnt to walk again — something I’ll never take for granted. Now I’m taking on a half marathon to raise vital funds for the team who quite literally saved my life.

Every step I take is because of them, and every donation will help them continue their life-saving work for others. Thank you so much for supporting me on this continued recovery journey

Monday 22/09 update.

Less than a week to go and the bulk of my training is done. I’ll do a couple of short, slow runs this week to make sure my ankles don’t seize up.

Thanks to people’s generosity I’ve smashed first £300, then £500 targets.

I’m hoping we can reach the £700 target now.

The hospitals charity does great work including keeping people entertained when they’re staying in hospital. I know that I was bored when I was awake in Intensive Care as they only had a radio for me to listen to. A radio that picked up 2 stations, fortunately one was Radio 5 Live and I could listen to the golf and cricket.

When I moved to Major Trauma ward then we had other patients to talk to, but also the visits from musicians which I know really lifted my spirits.

Donate as much as you can. Please.
