In order to support Barnardo's I am planning to cover 40,000km through my 40th year on the planet.

I would like to support the great work that Barnardo's are doing to help the young and vulnerable.

Alongside workshops and volunteering, fundraising remains a key part of the support provide with every £ making a difference including:

£11 - Purchasing phone credit for a child at risk to call their support worker when needed.

£15 - Helping to cover the cost of a shopping basket of essential food items for a family.

£25 - Assist in purchasing art materials to support a child who has experienced the trauma of exploitation or express their experiences visually.

£50 - providing specialist support to a family struggling to make ends meet.

To support this, as I enter my 40's I will travel 40,000km cycling, running, walking, hiking and swimming. Some will be organised events others will just be racking up the KMs where I can in order to dedicate time, raise awareness and hopefully funds for those that are in need.

The timeline on this will be from August 1st 2024 to 31st December 2025 which gives me the final 6 months of my 30's and a few months into my 40's to get through it!

This will be an average of 540km per week, or k77km a day...

So far these are the events I have booked:

August 9th - Snowdon Hike

August 11th - Brecon Beacon Hike

October 12th - 50K Suffolk Ultra

April 27th - London Marathon

4th May - sprint triathlon wilmslow

18th October - A100 hundred miles

Anything you can provide to support from £1 please help me help Barnardo's and support their work.

We're working with them to raise awareness and vital funds to one of their programmes: Employment, Training and Skills (ETS). This programme reaches young people aged 16-24 who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) – which is a cause that’s close to our heart. Through this programme, they provide employability, education and wraparound support for young people in need and the success of the programme sees around 70% of young people move on to a positive destination.

Barnardo’s has ambitious plans to support 750,000 young people by 2025, and we are looking forward to aiding in this mission through our partnership.
