Story

Greetings Generous Givers!

PLLEEEEEEEAASE donate as much as you can as I attempt to accomplish a mission I have been longing to tackle since the early 2000s.

I am going to run... The London Ruddy Bloody Marathon!

YOU: But wait a minute Jon, why have you been unsuccessfully applying to run this stupidly gruelling event for over two decades?

JON: Well the thing is, my Father ran it in 1990 and my Grandad ran it many times also.

YOU: Ah that's nice so you want to carry on in their footsteps then?

JON: Absobloodyexactly.

YOU: Why do you always have to talk/write in an Alan Partridge persona.

JON: It's an uncontrollable compulsion stemming from a great and deep love.

YOU: Oh. Sorry. That must be difficult for you.

JON: It is my great burden. Anyway, you see, my Grandad, Ian is no longer with us. He died in late 2017 after suffering with Alzheimers for many years. So ever since then I promised to him that if those London Marathon ballot bastards ever finally pulled my chuffing name out of their electronic hat, I would raise money for a Dementia charity. Luckily this time, Dementia UK have answered the call and given me a spot on their team

YOU: Wow you're so amazing, kind and romantic please can I give you a million pounds right now?

JON: Can you afford that much?

YOU: Hmm not sure, maybe I'm just so enamoured with you that I got carried away there for a second but I'd love to donate please.

JON: Well thank you very much indeed. As luck would have it you've come to the right place. Simply click on the "Give Now button" and donate what you can.

YOU: You betcha. I can't wait. Um, can I have a hug too?

JON: Thanks. I really am a great hugger so I can understand why you'd want something in return. It's only fair. The hugs are free.

YOU: Gee whizz thanks Jon, you're the best!
