Why I’m Taking Part in the Big Blue Nose Day Sleepout 2026
I’m taking part in the Big Blue Nose Day Sleepout 2026 for two reasons that mean a huge amount to me: supporting a fantastic local cause and giving something back to a football club that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
The Blues Foundation and its Community Hub do incredible work in our local community. From youth clubs and homework clubs to food pantries, employability sessions and coffee mornings for older people, the Hub provides vital support, creates opportunities and helps tackle social isolation. The money raised through this event will help ensure these services can continue making a real difference to people’s lives.
But for me, this event is personal, too.
I’ve been a Birmingham City supporter all my life, attending my first game during the 1979–80 season. My grandad was a Blue, my dad is a Blue, and both my sons, Ben and James, have followed in our footsteps. Supporting Blues has been a family tradition, passed down through the generations.
Over the years, I’ve been a home and away season ticket holder, and more recently I’ve had the privilege of hosting the Blues Focus podcast. St Andrew’s has always been much more than a football ground to me. It’s a second home, a place full of memories, emotions and shared experiences that mean more than I can easily put into words.
The opportunity to spend a night sleeping out in the stadium bowl, looking out across the pitch, is something genuinely special. It’s a chance to experience St Andrew’s in a completely different way while raising money for a cause that deserves all the support it can get.
So, I’m taking on the challenge to give something back to our club, support the brilliant work of the Blues Foundation and help make a difference to people in our local community.
If you’re able to sponsor me, every contribution will help. It’s for a fantastic cause, and I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
Keep Right On! 💙
