Story
Running the London Marathon for the Youth Sport Trust
In April 2026 I completed my first marathon, a challenge that pushed me physically and mentally and showed me what can be achieved through persistence, training and self-belief.
Now I'm taking on the 2027 London Marathon to raise money for the Youth Sport Trust, a charity whose mission is very close to my heart.
I'm a primary school teacher and see every day the difference that sport and physical activity can make to children's lives. Sport helps young people develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a sense of achievement. For some children, it is the part of the school day where they truly shine.
Physical activity has also played an important role in my own life. Alongside running, I enjoy unicycling and have completed several long-distance endurance rides. In 2026 I rode 100 kilometres on a unicycle to raise money for sports equipment for children at my school, raising more than £2,500. During my training for that challenge, I also completed a marathon, showing just how much endurance and determination can be developed through regular physical activity.
The Youth Sport Trust works to ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience the benefits of sport and play, regardless of their background or circumstances. Their work helps young people build healthier, happier and more active lives.
By supporting my London Marathon challenge, you'll be helping the Youth Sport Trust continue that important work while giving me plenty of motivation to get through the long training runs ahead.
Thank you for your support. Every donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
