Story
After losing my dad at the end of 2018 and then going through the break up of my marriage, it is fair to say that I have been through some dark times when I felt I had no one to talk to.
As a result I have teamed up with my friend Charlie Mears at the Woodpecker project and come up with a challenge that we feel will help raise awareness for MENTAL HEALTH and The Woodpecker Project
I am aiming to swim the length of Windamere with a team around me for support, which is 11 miles/ 18km in length but with a slight or should I say Sight difference. I will be doing it blindfolded.
We aim to use this incredible fitness feat to show the importance of supporting each other as they go through dark times. It will test my physical and mental ability and the importance of having a strong team around me to guide me through this adventure.
We hope it will show that even through the darkest of times, communicating with us will help guide us to a better place.
For the record about 10 years ago, my younger brother joked that I would need arm bands to do my first triathlon which was a 400m pool swim. I hated swimming!
Please support us if you can by donating and making all the hard work that myself and the team around me will be putting in over the next 12 months
