16.3 miles for Worcestershire Neonatal Services 💜

On 20th October 2026, Jonty’s corrected 1st birthday, we’re taking on a slightly different kind of birthday celebration.

Jonty was born at 33 weeks, and spent the first 19 days of his life on the neonatal unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. After coming home, we were then supported by the neonatal outreach team for a further 48 days.

The neonatal team became a huge part of our lives during what was a completely unexpected and overwhelming start to becoming parents. The care and support we received, both on the unit and once we were home, made such a difference to us.

So, to say thank you — and to celebrate just how far Jonty has come — Beth (Mum) and Jonty will be walking 26.3 kilometres (16.3 miles) from home to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

We’ll be following as much of the route off-road as we can, including along the canal, with Jonty travelling some of the way in his pram and some of it in his backpack.

We’re raising money for Worcestershire Neonatal Services to help them continue supporting other premature and poorly babies, and their families, at what can be an incredibly difficult time.
