Running the Cleveland Way for Rewilding Britain

Jools Townsend is raising money for Rewilding Britain

Running the Cleveland Way

Our aim is the mass restoration of ecosystems in Britain. We want to reverse the decline in nature so that living systems and our sense of wonder can thrive. Rewilding offers hope for wildlife, for humanity, for the planet. It’s our opportunity to leave the world in a better state than it is today.

Story

I'll be embarking on another big running challenge, 28 Sept - 1 Oct, running the Cleveland Way over four days. Starting in Filey, I'll be tackling 109 miles of trails up the coast and then along the Cleveland Hills to Helmsley. It's a step up from anything I've done before: just shy of a marathon on day one, an ultra on day two and again on day three, then nearly a marathon on day four. I'll be flying solo, carrying my stuff on my back.

I'm collecting sponsorship for a inspiring and important charity called Rewilding Britain. As well as offering hope in the face of the devastating depletion of the natural world, they support community-led projects around the country reconnecting people with nature, tackling biodiversity loss, and deploying nature-based solutions to the climate crisis. They're a small, growing charity, and any amount you can contribute, however small, is gratefully received. Find out more here: https://www.rewildingbritain.org.uk/.
