Story
My wife, Stacey O’Brien, had a TP53 genetic fault; a condition which increases a person’s risk of getting cancer by almost 100%. This gene is linked to many different kinds of cancers. Stacey had cancer nine times in total: sarcoma in the leg, breast, lymph nodes, back, heart, liver, and brain.
Stace fought a tough battle for many years. She never let things get her down and remained strong even though deep down she was suffering.
Tragically, Stacey passed away this March after a month in the Marie Curie hospice, aged 39.
Marie Curie cared for Stace during her final weeks and the work they do is amazing.
the Marie Curie Nurses are so skilled and caring. They’re there to help the patient and they’re there for the family too.
As a group we want to do something in her memory and give back to this amazing cause.
The only funding they receive is from donations like this and every part will go to support those folks who need it and their families.
No amount is too big or small and is most appreciated by us all.
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.
