Story
On 22nd June, my nephew Renley made his arrival much earlier than expected at just 32 weeks and spent the first part of his life being cared for in NICU. The incredible neonatal team not only gave Renley the specialist care he needed, but also provided so much support and reassurance to my sister and her family during an incredibly worrying time. Seeing the amazing care they received has inspired me to organise this sponsored walk as a way of giving something back and helping NICU continue to support other tiny babies and their families. 💙
We also want to recognise the incredible NICU Outreach Team, whose support doesn’t simply end when families leave the neonatal unit. They continue to provide invaluable care, reassurance and guidance at home, helping families navigate the transition from hospital and giving them much-needed confidence and support along the way. Their ongoing dedication makes such a difference to babies and their families, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do. 💕
On the 3rd October 2026, a group of us will be walking from Gloucester Royal Hospital to Lydbrook Athletic Football Club to raise funds, with a raffle and band taking place at the football club on the walkers return.
