Running the London Marathon to fight for hospice care for all

Jordan Botham is raising money for Hospice UK

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

On Sunday 26 April 2026 #TeamHospiceUK are running the London Marathon and raising money for hospice care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

From purposely missing cross country in school to completing the 2026 London Marathon!

As many will know my local hospice, Ashgate, has recently announced they have sadly cut the number of available beds from 21 to 15 and it is proposed that this figure will drop to just 6 due to critically low reserves. They have turned to local communities to make up this huge short fall. Ashgate has played a huge role in supporting my partners grandparents at the end of their lives, providing dignified and compassionate care and we will be forever grateful for this. Willen Hospice and John Eastwood hospice also have a special place in my families hearts.

Hospice care eases the pain of death and dying, focusing on comfort, dignity and improving quality of life, right until the end. So many hospices in the UK are facing a financial crisis that puts services that so many people access at risk. Too many will miss out on this essential care.

Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, now and forever.

As the national champion for hospices, Hospice UK supports over 200 hospices across the UK, helping them deliver the best, most personalised care to 310,000 people each year.

Personally, I have been on a huge journey losing roughly 6 stone which has truly changed my life. I am running this marathon to maintain the life change I have made and continue to stay fit and healthy, but also achieve something never thought would be possible and raise money for this much needed cause.

All donations big or small are immensely appreciated. Your support makes a huge difference, please share my page and join me in protecting hospice care for all. Thank you. 💜🧡
