Story
This year, I’m running the Great North Run alongside my sister Ayesha and our Uncle Tim, in memory of my dad, Richard Marston, who sadly lost his battle with cancer last year.
My dad was a keen runner, and we had planned to take on the Great North Run as a family in 2025. Sadly, wasn’t possible—but running it now feels like the closest way to keep that promise and honour him.
He was the best dad anyone could ask for, and honestly, he would never have believed I’d be doing something like this. That alone is reason enough to push myself every step of the way.
We’re raising money for Macmillan, who provide incredible support to people facing cancer and their families. They were there for us during the hardest time, helping prepare the kids for what was to come and offering support when we needed it most.
If you’re able to donate, it would mean a lot—not just to us, but to the many families who rely on the care and support Macmillan provides every single day.
Thank you ❤️
