Story
Three years ago, I lost my mum after her battle with pancreatic cancer. The years since have been some of the hardest of my life as I've tried to rebuild myself emotionally and mentally. Grief changes you, and it's something I still carry with me every day.
At the start of this year, I made it my mission to focus on my wellbeing and become a better version of myself. Taking on this half marathon is part of that journey, and being able to do it while honouring my mum's memory means more to me than I can put into words.
Going through this taught me how important it is to talk about how you're feeling. Like many young men, I found it incredibly difficult to open up at first, bottling everything up until I realised I couldn't do it alone. The support of my friends and family has made an enormous difference and reminded me that no one should have to face life's hardest moments in isolation.
That's why I'm raising money for young men's mental health. Too many people struggle in silence or feel they have to carry everything on their own. If this challenge can help raise awareness, encourage even one person to ask for help, or provide support to someone who needs it, then every mile will be worth it.
If you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution will help ensure more young people have access to the support they deserve.
I'll be running this half marathon regardless, but knowing that, together, we can make a difference in someone else's life would make every step even more meaningful.
Thank you so much for your support.
