Story
On 20 June 2026, myself and some friends plan to complete the Welsh 3000s Challenge in aid of LionHeart.
The Welsh 3000s Challenge involves climbing all 15 peaks over 3,000ft in Snowdonia within 24 hours. It covers roughly 30 miles and 4,000m of ascent, linking the highest mountains in Wales in a single continuous hike.
LionHeart is the charity for RICS professionals, past and present, and their families. They've helped thousands of surveyors and their families, including myself. During some of the most difficult times of my life, LionHeart provided invaluable support and services to get me back on my feet, and I have been proud to call myself an Ambassador of theirs for over 6 years now.
Despite their link to the RICS, LionHeart are independently funded and relies heavily on donations to continue their work, as they have for over 100 years. Donations are absolutely vital to their work. They help people just like you, who happen to have hit a tough time in their lives, by providing financial help, work-related support, counselling or legal advice.
LionHeart services are available to every member of RICS and their families, from APC candidates right through their career and into retirement.
While you may not be a surveyor, chances are you know one or a member of their family. Everyone experiences hard times, and in the current climate of dire mental health issues and outcomes, resources like those that LionHeart provide all go toward ensuring everyone gets help as fast as they can.
