To be honest, I find it easier to ignore the critical work Open Homes do and before they came to talk to us in uni, I never knew youth homelessness was such an issue on my doorstep! Stark statistics and real stories of abuse and unfortunate events really hit this hard truth home of the number of young people facing crisis situations and ending up homeless in Nottingham (https://www.openhomes.org.uk/nottingham-nightstop).

Open Homes provide crucial support in that emergency point by providing short term accommodation with supportive hosts while things can be sorted out - providing not just a bed but warmth, safety, and a moment to breathe…
