Story

Three Peaks. One Week. One Mission.

From the 10th to the 15th of August 2026, the Army Cadets of Salamanca Company, Somerset ACF will take on one of the toughest challenges of their young lives — climbing the three highest peaks in the United Kingdom in just one week.

Their journey will begin in Scotland, standing at the foot of mighty Ben Nevis. Battling steep ascents, unpredictable weather, and exhaustion, the cadets will push themselves beyond their limits before travelling south to conquer Scafell Pike in the Lake District. Finally, they will face the rugged paths of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), completing an unforgettable test of resilience, teamwork, courage, and determination.

But this challenge is about far more than mountains.

Every step they take represents the values they learn as Army Cadets: perseverance in the face of hardship, loyalty to one another, and service to the wider community. These young people are not climbing for medals or recognition — they are climbing to make a difference.

The cadets are raising money for two incredible charities:

* Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK, which helps ensure young people across the country can access life-changing opportunities through the Army Cadet Force.

* Cancer Research UK, supporting vital research that gives hope to millions of families affected by cancer.

For some cadets, this will be their first time tackling mountains of this scale. There will be blisters, aching legs, early mornings, and moments when giving up would feel easier. Yet together they will keep moving forward — carrying not only their packs, but the hopes of the charities and people they support.

Your donation will help turn every mile walked and climbed into real impact.

It will help support young people finding confidence, purpose, and belonging through the cadet experience. It will also help fund the scientists, researchers, and medical breakthroughs that continue the fight against cancer.

Three mountains. Seven days. Countless reasons to keep climbing.

Please support Salamanca Company, Somerset ACF, as they take on the Three Peaks in a Week Adventure Training Charity Challenge and help them raise as much as possible for these worthy causes.
