In July 2018 we lost my dear Mam, Joan after a 15 year battle with breast cancer. To honour her memory, I will set out to walk the 21 mile route form Consett to Sunderland on Saturday 01 March 2025 and raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer - the only UK registered charity who focus research solely on the prediction and prevention of breast cancer.

Good mental health was something this horrible disease robbed from my Mam in her later years, however I have found walking to be a great help with my personal struggles this year and can't think of a better tribute to the greatest woman I have ever known than completing this route in her memory.

It is sure to be a long and lonely journey so anybody who wishes to join me in this is more than welcome.
