Story
My younger brother Kyle has received amazing care from the great staff at Crosshouse for many years and, unfortunately, is currently passing the 9 week mark of being in hospital for treatment again.
Kyle has had many health issues since birth. He has cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy and a very rare genetic condition called EEF1A2, he is one of only 100 recorded cases is the world.
As my own way of supporting such a great cause, I initially signed up to take part in the "Around Arran in 30 days" challenge and now have decided to go a bit further.
On Sunday 1st September 2024, I am going to air bike the 90km distance in my garage gym in a day.
While this is going to be a real challenge, it pales in comparison to what kids like Kyle go through and I'd really appreciate your support.
Here is a wee excerpt from the charity themselves:
Each year more than 25,000 babies, children and young people from across Ayrshire require treatment in hospital. With the help of communities in Ayrshire & Arran, Crosshouse Children's Fund raises vital funds to help young patients and their families have the best possible hospital experiences.
By funding pioneering medical equipment and research, supporting families, supporting every child through play, providing bereavement support, and providing practical and emotional support to staff, children receive the extra special care they deserve.
