Story

The Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge 2026 has an Ultra March category that turns power walking into a bit of a suffer fest. Taking place 2–3 May 2026, it sends you marching fast along the island’s coastal path for distances up to 106 km. The route throws plenty at you, from clifftop climbs and windy stretches past the Needles, to long, quiet miles through Cowes and Ventnor. Even though there are rest stops, clear signs, GPS tracking, and food along the way, it’s still a seriously tough day (or two) on your feet. It’s the kind of challenge where you dig deep, keep moving, and discover just how stubborn you really are.

I am taking part in this challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support because my dad is currently battling cancer. It’s a hard time, and this felt like a positive way to show support for him and for the people who help families like ours
