Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We (Sian, Joanne & Warren) are running the Chester Half Marathon on Sunday 18th May 2025 in memory of Sian’s beautiful son, Joseph Anthony Morris who was born in Wrexham Maelor Hospital on Thursday 12th September 2024 at 30weeks and sadly died on Saturday 14th September 2024 in Ysbty Glan Clwyd following some complications after birth.

Whilst at Glan Clwyd in the Special Care Baby Unity (SCBU), Sian & Matt were supported by the in-house charity (Cuddles) who helped them so much and who they are forever indebted too.

Anything you can give to this amazing charity would mean so much to us all aswell as our family & friends.

About Cuddles:

Cuddles was first established in 1993 and is run solely by volunteers.

A baby's chance of survival is dependent on a number of things; having access to up to date medical and nursing care, as well as the love and support of family and friends. Fortunately, scientific advances are developing at a phenomenal rate.

Cuddles tries to compliment the units resources by helping provide equipment. They are funded entirely from public support through fundraising and donations. The main purpose of the Cuddles charity is to provide equipment, facilities and support to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) by complimenting and enhancing those provided by the NHS.

Their main mission is :

- To provide life saving equipment so the unit can provide the best possible care.

- To provide supporting equipment, such as the Cuddles Boxes, to help parents with the unexpected transition of having a baby within unit.

- To provide advice, support and information to families.
