“I think people should be kind to everyone and not mean. There is a lot meanness in the world and it makes people unhappy and I want people to smile. And make people happy. And kindness is key to unlocking friends. I think this charity help people to be happy and smile. Morph is always happy too. I am looking forward to decorating Morph and seeing him go to London. I’m going to try and do some more for the charity too!” Joseph
For Lent I have decided to raise money for a charity called Whizz-Kidz who came into my school today. It is specially important to help charities at this time because of the cost of living crisis.
I am not the best at reading books so I am going to challenge myself during Lent to read one book a week instead of gaming. I’d like to raise £400 over the next 4 weeks of Lent. That’s 4 books so £100 a book!!! Or approximately £15 a day! It’s a lot of reading though!
My first book is ginormous and called Fury of the Vikings. To prove I have read it I will write a short review at the end of Lent for every book.
Whizz-Kids….
There are an estimated 75,000 young people in the UK who need a wheelchair to be mobile. Most young people aren't getting a wheelchair that fully meets their needs through the NHS, and having the wrong wheelchair can lead to dependence on others, social isolation, poor mental health, pain and injury. Without the ability to be independent young wheelchair users are restricted in their ability to socialise and participate in society.
Whizz-Kidz exist to empower young wheelchair users, provide the right equipment, support and confidence-building experiences they need to make sure they feel part of the world we live in.
