Sponsored 60 hour fast where I will only consume water and electrolytes.

We strive to be a Eucharist-centred, diverse and inclusive Christian community promoting life in abundance, wellbeing and dignity for all. We offer hospitality to people going through homelessness and speak out on issues of injustice, concerning refugees, earth, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Story

With the weather growing increasingly cold and wet, the dark nights drawing in and with Christmas only next month, we can’t help but be reminded about those who are less fortunate than ourselves.  I see homelessness all the time when I walk to and from my branch in Jermyn Street and I would like to do something about it.

I am looking to raise funds for St James’s Church that does amazing work supporting those who suffer the great misfortune of being homeless and/or poor.  Every year St James's Church and its team of volunteers provides over 5,000 hot meals together with clothing, footwear, counselling and other support to the homeless and the poor.  I have met with various members of the team at the church many times; they really are an impressive, inspiring group of individuals who care deeply about the local community and are passionately focused on addressing this important and urgent issue for the area.

In an effort to raise funds, I intend to literally 'go hungry for the homeless' as I undertake a sponsored 60 hour fast where I will only consume water (and electrolytes)... that also means no coffee!

My fast will start on Sunday 26th November and will finish on Wednesday 29th November.

Please sponsor me: I know that together we can make a massive difference… Perhaps you could go hungry for the homeless yourself… skip lunch or a coffee and donate the cost to my fundraiser.

Thank you for any support that you can give.
