Joseph's fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Sara Pollins is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association
In memory of Vera Pollins

Cricket Challenge · 15 August 2026

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Hello,

My name is Joseph and for my bar mitzvah project I have decided to put 2 important things in my life together: my Granny Vera and cricket.

My granny was always known as a brilliant human being. She got motor neurone disease in 2016, the average life expectancy when getting the disease is 2-3 years. She lived with it for 8 years and sadly died in March 2024.

For my project I am challenging myself to see how many times I can hit the stumps in an hour, on 22 yard cricket pitch. It's just me against the stumps.

This is where you come in! Please take a guess to see how many I can get and donate £1 per wicket. The person who gets closet will win a prize.

Good luck!

P.s. (Note from my mum) The platform encourages you to 'tip'. This money doesn't go to MNDA, it goes to the platform. Should you not wish to do this, set the tip amount to 0 in the bit where you choose how much to tip, otherwise it adds it automatically.
