Miscarriage Association Miles that Matter 2025 · 11 May 2025 ·

For the M.A., every pregnancy loss matters, and during June we'd like our supporters make their miles matter too, by taking on a 42 mile challenge in memory of their own loss, or in support of someone they know who’s been through pregnancy loss.

Story

I'm taking part in #milesthatmatter starting on 1st of June in memory of my first pregnancy loss which ended in miscarriage and my second pregnancy loss which left me a mummy to a beautiful angel, Oliver Sam Currie who was born at just 18 weeks and 2 days on 25.03.25.

Both of my pregnancies were through IVF. Unfortunately I have very poor quality embryos so after 9 years of infertility my little sister kindly donated her eggs to me and my partner so we can build a future for ourselves. Her name is Samantha, which is where Oliver gets his middle name. Ivf comes with a lot of rules, one being that a woman's BMI must be under 30 in order to receive treatment. All my life I have gone up and down on the scales due to medical issues but every time I have gone for treatment I have worked hard through diet and exercise to reduce my BMI, mainly walking. I am working on myself once again so I can go back and try again with treatment, so why not make the miles matter this time and do it for my 2 babies and all the other babies who were too perfect for this world, because EVERY LOSS MATTERS🩵🩷

As part of Team M.A., I'm hoping to raise awareness and start conversations about the issues surrounding pregnancy loss, signpost people to the services the M.A offer, and raise funds to ensure that they can continue to be there for those that need them most.
