Josephine Crossland is raising money for Galashiels Rotary Club
Take to the Water has teamed up with Borders Water Rescue team and local Galashiels Rotary Club to take on the Union Bridge to Berwick 9.5km challenge. All funds raised will align to Galashiels Rotary Club & Borders Water Rescue Team.

Story

On 14th September, I’ll be swimming 9.5km down the River Tweed from the Union Chain Bridge to the Berwick Lifeboat Station. I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for the Borders Water Rescue Team, who provide vital life-saving support in our local community. Every donation, no matter the size, will help them continue their incredible work—thank you for your support!

The Borders Water Rescue Team provides water based search, rescue & recovery service in conjunction with the emergency services. They are a volunteer team, including Rescue3 qualified personnel who are able to assist with search and rescue of those individuals who have got into trouble in our many areas of water. In addition, they provide health and safety support for many water based community activities such as Common Riding water crossings, film sets & large scale obstacle courses.

They are an essential service on our doorstep providing peace of mind. You never know when any of us will require and be hugely grateful for their commitment and services.
