Story
Joseph: "This year I'm hoping to double last year's Challenge" π My Challenge: 202 Library Books to read between 4th July - 21st September and hoping to raise Β£202 for the charity The Reading Agency.
The books I read now are bigger but I also want to make my target bigger too so I've challenged myself to read 202!! π
Last year I completed my 101 challenge for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge. I set a target of 101 books and read 104 and with community kindness donated on here we also went beyond the Β£101 goal raising Β£251 for The Reading Agency π₯³
It made my Summer extra exciting, definitely one I'll never forget. For this reason I couldn't wait for the reading challenge to start again and I knew I wanted to set a bigger challenge and double it... next year I'm tempted to triple it for 303 so watch this space!! π€π
If you are able to leave a donation on here for the charity of any amount I will be extremely grateful thankyou so much, and if you also have a book recommendation please add it to the comments I'll happily add it to my reading list and attach a photo on here along with my book review for it.
Thankyou again so much, together we can attack and complete this challenge, let's do this!! πͺπ
A bit of information below about the Summer Reading Challenge and also The Reading Agency Charity.
What is the Summer Reading Challenge?
The Summer Reading Challenge is a national initiative provided by the Reading Agency aimed at children aged four to 11 years old. In Portsmouth this year the challenge runs from 4th July to 21st September 2026.
Children decide how many books they would like to read for the challenge. We recommend six but children can read more or less than this.
Children can read whatever they like β fiction, fact books, poetry, joke books, picture books, audio books, eBooks β just as long as they are borrowed from the library.
The Reading Agency
The Reading Agency are amazing with the work they do for Libraries, Schools, Care Homes & so much more, they want to help everybody to be able to have books to read and help them read too, it's really lovely. I love books so much and feel really happy that this charity help people to be able to read so that they can then love books too. ππ You can find out more about the charity from their Bio attached to this page.
