BTF Research Award Appeal

Josh Baglow is raising money for British Thyroid Foundation

Will you help researchers unlock better treatments for thyroid conditions? A shocking lack of thyroid research funding means treatments have barely changed in 80 years. Please donate to support vital research and help improve treatments & outcomes.

Story

Hi,

Five years ago my wife Chelsey was diagnosed with Hashimotos disease, which is an auto immune thyroid condition. Recently our 10 year old daughter Luca has also been diagnosed with Hashimotos, this is an auto immune condition affecting their thyroid that they will have to manage and take daily medication for the rest of their lives.

The awareness and treatment for thyroid conditions in the UK is currently very poor and we would like to support The British Thyroid Foundation by helping to raise money for their research into better treatment in the UK.

Up to 1 in 20 people in the UK live with a thyroid condition.

And yet there is so little research into thyroid disease. This means treatments have barely changed in over 80 years

The British Thyroid Foundation funds vital research to help address the unanswered questions that hold the key to improved diagnosis, treatments and outcomes for anyone affected.

They need to raise £20,000 towards their BTF Research Award. This will invest £40,000 in UK-based research studies.

Stride for Thyroid is an annual awareness and fundraising campaign hosted every October by The British Thyroid Foundation.

On Sunday 25th October myself, my daughter Luca and her twin brother Lennon will be walking 10km from West Kirby Marine Lake to The Devon Doorway in Heswall and hoping to raise as much as possible to support this charity.

Please donate to help researchers find the answers people with thyroid conditions urgently need.
