Story
I have a lot to personally thank The Brain Tumour Charity for.
In 2021, my Mum - a very sporty and seemingly healthy woman - was involved in a bike crash. Following this crash, she had a precautionary head and neck scan, which is standard to check for concussion after such crashes. What they found was much worse. She had a brain tumour the size of a golf ball. No one had any idea it was there. It was a terrifying revelation. Following this, there were visits to see specialists and it was decided to operate on the brain tumour. This is a major operation and what the surgeons did to remove the tumour was incredible. A course of targeted radiotherapy followed.
Mum has returned to life as normal, thriving and doing the thing she loves most: cycling again like an absolute superhero.
Work like this cannot be performed without research and development, which is where donating to The Brain Tumour becomes so important. Not everyone is so lucky as we have been and we are unbelievably grateful to everyone working towards this great cause!
