On the 11th June, myself & my dad are setting off on a 2700 mile banger rally from Cornwall to Monaco & back in a car which must be worth less than £500.

For the rally we have a £350, 2004 Audi A4 Avant. Having worked for Audi for the last 16years, it had to be an Audi!

We are raising awareness and money for ‘IT’S IN THE BAG’ a southwest testicular cancer charity very close to my heart.

At the age of 18, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

After months of being told by the GP it was nothing to worry about, I was eventually given the news, with my dad sat next to me in the hospital, that I had cancer.

When my friends & others my age were worrying about where to go for a night out, I was worrying about chemotherapy, what lay ahead for me and most of all the word cancer.

Being told that after treatment I was unlikely to be able to have kids of my own, the fear of the operation & what chemotherapy even was, charities & support like ‘IT’S IN THE BAG’ offer men the help, reassurance & advice from checking, diagnosis, treatment & beyond. They are the ONLY dedicated testicular cancer charity in the whole of the southwest of England.

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15 to 45. Yet, for many young & middle-aged guys, this probably never crosses their mind.

Over 2,500 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer in the UK each year, but it is more than 96% curable when detected early.

Luckily i caught it early, i now have 2 of the most perfect little boys of my own & have made a full recovery.

I now want to use my experience to try & raise money for a charity which helps so many men each year get through the hardest time in their life.

The rally starts 11th July 2026. It starts in Namur in Belgium, into Frieburg in Germany, through into Switzerland onto Italy & then Monaco & Nice….and back… in a 22 year old car worth £350.
